Dear Democrats - you can’t negotiate with CRAZY and that’s what Kevin “QANON” McCarthy and his GOP-QANON caucus is C-R-A-Z-Y (amended)

Look at lot of pundits will pontificate about why the Congressional Democrats should only proceed with “bipartisanship” for the January 6th Commission.
What most should think about is why would Kevin “QANON” McCarthy do a complete 180 - and why is Mitch willing to do the same thing. Here’s my argument of why both the Top GOP-QANON Leaders are demurring…
I am going to remind you about the exemplary case argued by the House Managers in Donald Trump’s second impeachment after the deadly insurrection. The Congressional Republicans proved that they are largely terrified of Trump. And at this point any sympathy for this party is no longer a prerequisite for “let’s all just get along” again you do not negotiate with crazy. As long as Donald Trump is the de facto leader of the GOP-QANON then Congressional Democrats need to walk away and do what’s right and good for our Country and Democracy

Because if you’re Kevin “QANON” McCarthy - then you’d be at the very tippy-top of the list of witnesses the Jan6th Commission would want to subpoena and command to sit down for a deposition. Yes if you’re Kevin “QANON” McCarthy, every conversation, in person and/or electronic with Trump - well Kevin you’ll be forced to open up your kimono. Of course you’ll move heaven and hell but mainly hell to prevent the formation of the Jan 6th Commission because buddy you and some of your subversive QANON-Caucus are complicit and that’s why you’re fighting this.

Notably on January 12, 2021 Rep Jaime Herrera Beutler (R-WA) issued the following Statement of why she was voting to Impeach Trump;
“The President of the United States incited a riot aiming to halt the peaceful transfer of power from one administration to the next. That riot led to five deaths. People everywhere watched in disbelief as the center of American democracy was assaulted….These terrorists roamed the Capitol, hunting the Vice President and the Speaker of the House.”

In February of 2021 Rep Jaimie Herrera Beutler February 12, 2021 statement corroborating CNN’s reporting of the January 6th telephone call from Minority Leader McCarthy (Q-CA) to implore Trump to tell his violent mob to stand down.
When McCarthy finally reached the president on January 6 and asked him to publicly and forcefully call off the riot, the president initially repeated the falsehood that it was antifa that had breached the Capitol. McCarthy refuted that and told the president that these were Trump supporters. That’s when, according to McCarthy, the president said: ‘Well, Kevin, I guess these people are more upset about the election than you are.’
So here’s what I want you to think about;

If you take the less than 20 seconds to read the official read-out;
…number one of which was taking back the House in 2022. President Trump’s popularity has never been stronger than it is today, and his endorsement means more than perhaps any endorsement at any time.
President Trump has agreed to work with Leader McCarthy on helping the Republican Party to become a majority in the House. They worked very well together in the last election and picked up at least 15 seats when most predicted it would be the opposite.
Kevin QANON McCarthy is scared…and feckless
Because he does not want to be put under oath and reply to a subpoena. Kevin QANON McCarthy’s statement is riddled with hypocrisy and misinformation so I took the liberty of adding annotations;
Department of Justice has announced 445 arrests in conjunction with the events of January 6, and expect 100 more arrests to follow. The Federal Bureau of Investigation continues to investigate any and all crimes committed that day, and I fully support these individuals being prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.
Unfortunately, the legislation being considered in the House this week is drafted in such a way that could interfere with and ultimately undermine these ongoing prosecutorial efforts – just one byproduct of a process that circumvents committee markup and is expected to come to the House Floor under a closed rule.

Let’s also NOT forget that on February 22, 2021 Kevin QANON McCarthy sent this letter to Speaker Pelosi. And while I generally agree that bipartisanship is a good thing but in the case of the January 6th deadly insurrection - the Congressional Democrats need to walk away.
You do not negotiate with a terrorist. Yes in case you’re confused I’m calling Donald J Trump a domestic terrorist. You also do not negotiate with crazy, vindictive or pathological liars.
That sentiment applies to both Trump and McCarthy who are (by proxy) the leaders of the GOP-QANON party of domestic terrorist sympathizers. And I know that sounds harsh but “it is what it is” and Donald J Trump presents a clear and present danger to our Country.
That said Rep McGovern’s interview with CNN is worth watching because he does an exemplary job of explaining the concession House Democrats made.

He has spoken publicly on the house floor about his view of the president’s responsibility. I think it’s very important that he clearly has facts about that day, that an investigation into what happened, into the president’s actions ought to get to the bottom of it and I think he has important information that needs to be part of any investigation, whether it’s the FBI, the Department of Justice, or this commission that I hope will be set up.”

WALLACE: When you talk about him being dangerous and -- and the way he's -- he's leading the party, and I ask this about both McCarthy and -- and -- and Elise Stefanik, are they being complicit in what you consider the Trump lies?
CHENEY: They are. And -- and I'm -- I'm not willing to do that. You know, I think that -- that there are some things that have to be bigger than party, that have to be bigger than partisanship. Our oath to the Constitution is one of those. I've seen countries, I've worked in countries around the world where you don't have a peaceful transition of power. What's happening right now with Donald Trump and -- and his continued attacks on the Constitution and the rule of law is dangerous and -- and we all have an obligation to stand up against that.
WALLACE: You also say that Kevin McCarthy should testify, but what it appears is going to be a new commission to investigate the riot on January 6th, and should testify specifically about the conversation he had with the president on that day where he reportedly called the president and said you've got to call the off and the president said, Kevin, it appears some people are more interested in this election than you are.
Again that interview is certainly worth (re)watching and no I’m not saying Fox News is worth watching - what I am saying is the May 16, 2021 Fox News Sunday interview is worth watching or a the minimum reading the transcript. Because in my line of work we (mainly me) spend a lot of time hunting down transcripts and then analyzing them to formulate a strategy. This particular exchange was largely overlooked and boy is this a “bad look” for Kevin QANON McCarthy
Any attempt to negotiate with Kevin QANON McCarthy and Mitch “back stabber” McConnell is an exercise in futility. The current Congressional GOP are the party of QANON. And their dear leader is one of the most abusive narcissistic sociopaths who’s like the spouse who keeps beating you and then gas lights you into believing you deserved to be punched. Seriously walk away - do it for the good of our Country and for the betterment of our Democracy… In the following gif - most sane Americans are the football, Charlie Brown is the House Democrats and Lucy -McCarthy/McConnell… there I said it and the world didn’t end - because it’s the damn truth…
