Defending the Republic -Kraken’s ultimate grift now on the radar of Federal Investigators
Sometimes local news is the best news, as is the case on Defending the Republic -in May-June of 2021 the State of Florida’s Agriculture and Consumer Services initiated an investigation
As widely reported by the Washington Post
Prosecutors demanded records of Sidney Powell’s fundraising groups as part of criminal probe
…A subpoena issued by the U.S. attorney’s office in D.C. sought communications and other documents related to fundraising and accounting by Defending the Republic
The grand jury subpoena, issued in September by the U.S. attorney’s office for the District of Columbia, sought communications and other records related to fundraising and accounting by groups including Defending the Republic, a Texas-based organization claiming 501(c) 4 nonprofit status, and a PAC by the same name, according to the documents and a person familiar with the investigation who spoke on the condition of anonymity to share details of the probe.
…not been previously reported, prosecutors are seeking records going back to Nov. 1, 2020…
As part of the investigation, which has not been previously reported, prosecutors are seeking records going back to Nov. 1, 2020.
The subpoena reviewed by The Post was signed by Assistant U.S. Attorney Molly Gaston, who is also handling politically charged matters related to the Jan. 6 attack on the Capitol, including contempt of Congress charges brought against former Trump adviser Stephen K. Bannon for refusing to testify in front of the House committee investigating the pro-Trump riot.
…June 2021 Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services…
Now what if I told you that in June of 2021 the Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services (FDACS) within the Department of Agriculture conducted yet another investigation into Powell’s Defending the Republic. The June 2021 Press Release which reads in part -also see June 18, 2021 Live Stream announcing the charges and investigation:
Florida Agriculture Commissioner Nikki Fried announced the results of an investigation into Defending The Republic, Inc., conducted by the Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services (FDACS), the state’s regulator of charities. Defending The Republic is a Texas-based organization affiliated with Sidney Powell, a former attorney for former President Donald Trump, and established as a legal fund involved in conspiracies related to the 2020 presidential election.
DOCUMENTS: The Administrative Complaint and the subpoena may be downloaded here.
…in November 2020, the department’s Division of Consumer Services initiated an investigation into the organization for allegedly operating DefendingTheRepublic.org in violation of Chapter 496, Florida Statutes. Florida state law requires all charitable organizations operating in Florida or soliciting funds from Floridians to be registered with FDACS, to ensure transparency of financial records and allow consumers to make informed decisions on charitable contributions.
In March 2021, the department issued a subpoena to DefendingTheRepublic.org’s domain host, the results of which indicated that Sidney Powell is affiliated with the website.
June 15, 2021, the department served Defending The Republic, Inc. with an administrative complaint alleging multiple violations of state law.
Defending The Republic, Inc. will have 21 days to come into compliance, negotiate a settlement, or face further legal action including a cease and desist order and a $15,000 administrative fine.
I would recommend you read @grantstern article - because in May of 2021 his reporting was weeks, if not months before the MSM started reporting on the FDACS’s investigation
Is there a Nexus to Sidney Powell?
Youbetcha and I’ll walk you through the public database(s)
What if I told you that I can with zero ambiguity prove that Defending the Republic Inc and subsequent PAC are not only tied directly to Sidney Powell but also tie Mike QANON-Flynn (and his brother) and Mike Lindell.
Here’s how I was able to prove my assertion:
Florida State Corporation Commission https://dos.myflorida.com/sunbiz/
Run a query/search “defend the republic” -results found here -note the two separate entities -one is active and the other was administratively dissolved in May of 2021
Which now brings you to the final step by step process of obtaining information from a public database. Even though the Defending the Republic Inc status has defaulted to “inactive” you can actually glean a few facts contained within the Articles of Incorporation - That is; you can confidently state (as a matter of public record) that Defending the Republic was nothing but a clever jurisprudence grift by Powell and her (un-named) co-conspirators.
I now refer you to pages 3-5 of the February 2021 Articles of Incorporation
And at this point you’re probably wondering -well prove that Sidney Powell is any way tied to Defending the Republic. Certainly I could just leave you with a cliffhanger but there’s no fun in that when you can simply lay down actual receipts that conclusively any factually link Powell to this impermissible grift.
Now that we know that the USAO-DC issued subpoena -what might get lost is that’s actually a grand jury subpoena. And while that tiny factual nugget might be overlooked —I can assure you that is a very important fact…
With respect to that ominous “sought communications and other records related to fundraising and accounting by groups including Defending the Republic, a Texas-based organization claiming 501(c) 4 nonprofit status, and a PAC by the same name…” see Texas SCC December 2020 filing by Sidney Powell I think she should be worried.
The Washington Post article really is the first indication that perhaps those who continue to attack Attorney General Garland -perhaps waiting for the facts versus castigating the current Attorney General for not doing what you think he should do and on your specified timeline isn’t exactly constructive, at all.
As to why Powell et al should be worried — my guess is Federal Investigators took keen interest in the Summer of 2021 enforcement action taken by the FDACS -which found Powell’s organization violated Florida law. Incidentally Defending the Republic paid the >$10K fine levied by FDACS.
But I also think Federal 7 Investigators might (operative word) be looking at Defending the Republic -self dealing by Sidney Powell - see FEC query for Defending the Republic 2021/2022 expenditures to Powell also see Texas State Corp Commission Filing. You’ll note that the mailing address is the same exact address from Sidney Powell’s law firm, that is according to the Texas Bar Association
DEFENDING THE REPUBLIC PAC INC
FEC ID No: C00771139 and Spending
Again if I’m a betting person - I think it’s reasonable to conclude that Defending the Republic’s various FEC filings are now under a very bright light. For Example on page 7 of the PAC’s mid-year 2021 Report, which was filed on November 18, 2021 by Sidney Powell
Anonymous Donors 2021/2022 Election Cycle:
The FEC publishes campaign contribution limits, for the purpose of this discussion let’s just focus on the FEC $50 cash limit for “anonymous donors” -this isn’t optional —the FEC promulgates campaign contribution thresholds during each election cycle. So it’s notable that in the first page of Defending the Republic PAC I couldn’t believe the very first entry disclosed a $500 anonymous cash donation…
FEC $50 limit on anonymous contributions:
…An anonymous contribution of cash is limited to $50. Any amount in excess of $50 must be promptly disposed of and may be used for any lawful purpose unrelated to any federal election, campaign or candidate.
And now I refer you to page 7 because that $500 anonymous donation is likely impermissible and in violation of current campaign finance laws.
Again to help you navigate through the various documents embedded in this article, I’ve uploaded a majority of the documents to my Scribd Account, link found here -I would absolutely recommend that you read Defending the Republic Mic-Year Report specifically pages 7 thru 15 and note how much money flows from the two Defending the Republic entities…
And with that I believe my multitasking skills have now been tested to its outer limits. Because reading, researching, writing and editing from a tiny smartphone & tablet, at various rest stops on I95 isn’t exactly conducive work environment - or is it? And with that I’ll leave you with the previous sunset & hexagonal waves
Lastly I won’t be publishing tomorrow and possibly Thursday - I just don’t have the bandwidth. -Filey
Thank you, thank you, thank you. Daily Beast and Washington post didn’t provide any detail or clarification to their “breaking news”.
You are amazing! It will take me some time to dig through all your research l! Thank you and I hope you continue to heal and take good care of yourself!
