as previously discussed in February 2021 - Emma Coronel Aispuro was arrested without incident at Dulles International Airport. And on June 10, 2021 the Department of Justice formally announced:
The wife of Joaquin “El Chapo” Guzman Loera, leader of the Mexican drug trafficking organization known as the Sinaloa Cartel, pleaded guilty today to charges related to international drug trafficking, money laundering, and a criminal violation of the Foreign Narcotics Kingpin Designation Act (the Kingpin Act).

I mean that is one helluva opening paragraph… I think you should also be mindful that she’s unlikely to actually cooperate and that’s reflective in the Government only affording her a 2 level down for “full acceptance of responsibility” but I do think that the Government has multiple cooperating witnesses…
For Count one - the maximum allowable is up to life in prison, for Count Two -the maximum allowable is up to 20 years in prison and for Count Three maximum allowable is up to 10 years in prison…
She pleaded guilty to a three-count criminal information charging her with:
1) Conspiring to distribute five kilograms or more of cocaine, one kilogram or more of heroin, 500 grams or more of methamphetamine, and 1,000 kilograms or more of marijuana in the U.S., Mexico, and elsewhere, knowing, intending, and having a reasonable cause to believe that such substances would be unlawfully imported into the U.S.;
2) conspiring with others to launder narcotics proceeds; and
3) violating the criminal penalties of the Kingpin Act by engaging in transactions and dealings in property of her husband, Guzman Loera, a Significant Foreign Narcotics Trafficker designated by the Office of Foreign Assets Control of the U.S. Department of the Treasury.
To help you understand what her cooperation -might be- the Government is only offering a 2 level reduction

There it is - see paragraph 4 - exactly what I said in 2020 and man as it turns out it was correct - I told my Twitter followers in 2020 that she and others were purposefully moving liquid assets and homes in an attempt to evade law enforcement and the predictable forfeiture.
Facts have a funny way of cutting through the screaming goats of QAnon-for-the-Left and there’s no need to all caps and emojis or a dramatic representation of the facts.

Minute Entry - proceedings held before Judge Rudolph Contreras: Arraignment as to EMMA CORONEL AISPURO (1) held on 6/10/2021. Defendant enters a plea of GUILTY to counts 1,2,3 of the information.
CASE REFERRED TO PROBATION OFFICE for Presentence Investigation. Sentencing set for 9/15/2021 at 2:00 PM before Judge Rudolph Contreras.
Also to give you an idea of how long it took the Government and Defendant to hammer out a plea agreement this Criminal Information was “under seal” (DDC-ECF https://ecf.dcd.uscourts.gov/doc1/04508420055 or via my public drive) this tells you that the parties were “negotiating” for nearly 6+weeks - and that should also tell you that the Department of Justice is not to be trifled with. Although I’m still flummoxed that the DOJ let Zepeda go but it’s likely the DOJ was playing the long game versus a quick take down. That’s something I can actually appreciate and respect.

Any idea of the minimum sentence she'll get (e.g., statutory minimum for Count 1 is 10 years: do level reductions affect that)?
