Charged the DOJ unsealed the Criminal Complaint on February 8, 202

Former US Marine is now the Whiskey-Tango-Fox Insurrectionist

January 17, 2021, the FBI received an online tip from a tipster. The tipster was watching the news during the Capitol insurrection and recognized a suspect but “wasn’t sure it was him.”

The tipster recognized JOHN DANIEL ANDRIES in a crowd of people at the U.S. Capitol building on January 6, 2021. W-1 said that he/she last saw ANDRIES about two years ago and knew him through a mutual friend. W-1 provided the FBI agent with ANDRIES’s address and telephone number, which your Affiant confirmed are registered to ANDRIES.

W-1 stated that ANDRIES served in the military, which your Affiant later confirmed. He/she also stated that ANDRIES has multiple arrests for DUI, which your Affiant also confirmed.

the affidavit states that on January 21, 2021 an FBI agent conducted surveillance of ANDRIES. And observed ANDRIES outside carrying a jacket which appeared to resemble the khaki-colored jacket he wore inside the U.S. Capitol building on January 6, 2021. On January 25, 2021 an FBI agent then interviewed a Deputy Sheriff from the St Mary’s County Sheriff’s Office, in Maryland.

According to the Affidavit ANDRIES was recognized in several videos;

a video depicts an angry crowd breaking through the exterior barriers outside of the Capitol Building steps, in another video ANDRIES is observed entering the Capitol Building via a broken window.

In yet two other videos ANDRIES is observed in both the Capitol Crypt and Sanctuary Hall. When he encountered US Capitol Police, it appears that ANDRIES came within inches of Officers, and after watching the videos to my untrained eye - it certainly appears that ANDRIES was physically aggressive towards US Capitol Police Officers, at one point it appears that he is taunting them and trying to (albeit aggressively) provoke a physical reaction from the Officers.

And then we have the Criminal Information thar hit his docket, and I’m going to go out on a limb and say that ANDRIES may (operative word) have taken a plea deal and that’s why an Information was filed on his docket.

On January 1, 2020 John Daniel Andries, age 34 of Piney Point– by Cpl. Worrey# 152. CASE# 028-20 - arrested and charged with DUI, out of an abundance of caution I redacted nearly all of Andries PII because doxing is bad and people who dox are engaging in criminal activity.
