Ten years - yes ten years Christopher Doyon arrested in Mexico arraigned in NDCA today…

when I saw this alert I audibly gasped and said out loud: holy shittlestix they (the FBI) finally got him… indeed yes they did. Updated with the Government’s notice of related case

According to Northern California acting U.S. Attorney Stephanie Hinds, 56-year-old Christopher Doyon was arrested by Mexican authorities on June 11 and was deported back into the United States on June 12, 2021.

For background - as alleged in the indictment in 2010 Doyon and Covelli were charged with hacking - in retaliation for the enforcement of certain camping restrictions in the city of Santa Cruz. The Government alleged that Doyon et al launched a cyberattack which coordinated with a group known as the People’s Liberation Front - although it’s been rumored that PLF had a loose association with Anonymous - I’m not 100% certain that’s the case

You’ll note paragraph 3 discusses PLF and association with “hacktivist” hence the possible coordination with Anonymous.

But it’s paragraph 4 that leads me to believe that the “association” might not be a rumor - why? Repeat after me: High Orbit Ion Cannon - see CloudFlare’s explanation (in short this is old school) —which reads in part:

High Orbit Ion Cannon is a popular tool used to launch DoS and DDoS attacks, which aims to flood a victim’s network with web traffic and shut down a web site or service. It is an easily available piece of open-source software developed by hacktivist group Anonymous, and it’s a successor to an older DDoS tool called the Low Orbit Ion Cannon (both named after sci-fi video game weapons)

The two count indictment charges Christopher Doyon with one count of Conspiracy to Commit Intentional Damage to a protected computer (belonging to Santa Cruz County) and one count of intentional damage to a computer

The fact is Doyon did not appear for his hearing and a bench warrant was issued in October of 2011 - also the co-defendant Joshua John Covelli has been in custody since early 2012 - but Doyon has been on the run for ten freaking years…

Back in 2012 Doyon was interviewed by a Canadian News Outlet

In November 2018 he was interviewed by Procesotv -which clearly showed he was living in Mexico..

This is why our FBI is the best of the best. It took them ten years but eventually Christian Doyon was arrested and extradited back to the NDCA - summary if you’re a cyber criminal the FBI will hunt you down like a wolf hunts it’s prey. Thoughts and Prayers or just turn yourself in.

September 21, 2011, defendant Christopher Doyon (hereafter “Defendant”) was charged with one count of conspiracy to cause intentional damage to a protected computer, in violation of 18 U.S.C. § 1030(b) and (c)(4)(A)(i)(I), and one count of intentional damage to a protected computer, aiding and abetting, in violation of 8 U.S.C. §§1030(a)(5)(A), (c)(4)(A)(i)(I), (c)(4)(B)(i) & 2.

…2011 indictment, Charges the Defendant with participating in a Distributed Denial of Service (DDoS) attack against Santa Cruz County’s computer servers on Dec. 16, 2010, that caused Santa Cruz County’s website to go offline.

February 2, 2012, the Defendant failed to appear at a status conference before the Honorable Lowell D. Jensen, who issued an arrest warrant but stayed it until a status conference on February 16, 2012…. again the Defendant failed to appear and his counsel reported to the Court that Defendant had fled to Canada.

The arrest warrant was issued.

On May 30, 2012, Defendant was indicted for failing appear on February 2, 2012, after he was placed on pre-trial release, in violation of 18 U.S.C. § 3146(a)(1). (CR 12-00426 EJD)

In short the Government wants to combine the cases - for the sake of judicial economy and I would highly doubt the Court will grant the Defendant’s be released, nope he’s going to stay in detention pending trial. Also I uploaded the Government’s Notice of Related cases to my pubic drive

-also to be clear Defendant Doyon is likely linked to Anonymous but I’m not looking to be targeted by them because my substack was already targeted by a cyber attack earlier this year. So it is what it is but damn the FBI should be lauded for ensuring Defendant Doyon is in custody… whispers please do not launch another cyberattack on my SubStack…
