I spent the afternoon with the family being a “tourist” in our City. This is DC at its very best. The fragrance from the Cherry Blossoms is, in a word -exquisite. Also the little love going downtown because they know we’ll eat hotdogs from a cart and the prerequisite “rocket pops” -I mean I’m a grown ass adult and even I love eating like a kid and keeping up our annual tradition. <snort>
Also testing out the new GoPro and mount, gotta say it’s pretty impressive and can’t wait to use it at the beach next weekend.
However in true DC form, just a few hours later, driving back home it started to snow. Like actual snow showers. To the point that we ended up pulling over on 66 (at an underpass) near Ballston, 110 & the Pentagon… and waited for the snow squall to pass.
In DC we have a saying “if the weather sucks, just wait five minutes and it will be better or infinitely worse”
Happy that you had a great day taking in the smell of the Cherry Blossoms, and quality family time.🌸
Beautiful. Thanks for sharing. I grew up on the MD side and always enjoyed my trips into DC. Dad planted Cherry Blossoms along our little barn lane and now I am crying....... Your kids are so lucky! Enjoy!!!!
