Defendant CHRISTOPHER JOSEPH QUAGLIN - cop-beater & FBI BOLO AFO # 58

is accused of: 1) Attacked USCP and MPD Officers, 2) Spraying them Them with Chemical Irritants, and 3) Stealing their Riot Shields

Meet CHRISTOPHER JOSEPH QUAGLIN

While wearing a MAGA hoodie, gas mask, helmet & GoPro and prosecutors alledge Defendant Quaglin allegedly shot pepper spray directly in the face of an law enforcement officer. The Defendant was also captured on numerous body warn cameras, violently and disruptively interfering with police and repeatedly assaulting numerous law enforcement officers.

Defendant Quaglin Charges:

18 U.S.C. § 111(b) -Assaulting, Resisting, or Impeding Certain Officers or Employees, 18 U.S.C. § 231(a)(3) -Civil Disorder, 18 U.S.C. § 1512(c)(2) -Obstruction of an Official Proceeding

Investigators reviewed publicly available video footage, USCP surveillance footage, and body worn camera (BWC) footage of officers. At approximately 1:36PM on Jan6th Quaglin seen in both body-worn camera footage, security footage and other publicly available videos. Investigators observed an White male (later identified as CHRISTOPHER JOSEPH QUAGLIN). The defendant was observed dressed in identifiable attire. For example: “Make America Great Again” jacket, black helmet, and gas mask as he was rapidly approaching a fence near the Capitol and was guarded by US Capitol Police Officer. Positioned outside the U.S. Capitol Building in Washington, D.C., on Jan. 6.

Paragraph 13, which reads in part:

“Seemingly unprovoked, QUAGLIN shouts the following statements towards the MPD Officers: “You don’t want this fight. You do not want this fucking fight. You are on the wrong fucking side. You’re going to bring a fucking pistol, I’m going to bring a fucking cannon. You wait! You wait! You wait! Stay there like a fucking sheep! This guy doesn’t know what the fuck is going on.” Several seconds later, QUAGLIN grabs onto the fence and appears to shake it and push against it while the MPD Officers are on the other side of the fence”

Note the time/date stamp of the first encounter with Defendant Quaglin, according to the affidavit, January 6, 2021 around 1:36PM. Based on other pending criminal cases that puts Quaglin in the possible first or second wave of the Proud Boys and/or Oath Keepers. Although it is possible the defendant acted as a lone Wolf but was influenced by others.

Similar to the “seemingly unprovoked” preface in paragraph 13 —when reading paragraph 16 you should note, interesting fact here is that Quaglin was the aggressor and repeatedly…

QUAGLIN walks through the crowd and approaches the USCP Officers located at the police line.. QUAGLIN continues to get closer to the USCP Officer… QUAGLIN then proceeds to hold and push USCP Officer by the neck, which appeared to contribute to USCP Officer starting to fall

The exact time Quaglin arrived to the Lower West Terrace is unknown. Notwithstanding the Government does state (in-part) that Defendant Quaglin arrived before before 2:40PM

“…rioters are engaged in physical altercations with multiple law enforcement officers, QUAGLIN appears to physically strike and shove the USCP Officer. Several seconds later and as numerous law enforcement officers are responding to the various altercations, QUAGLIN appears to physically push the USCP Officer again…”

The affidavit further states, how the riot shields were purloined and in my opinion the most overlooked facts/events other protestors took it upon themselves to protect the fallen Officer.

around 2:34PM, BWC footage captured Quaglin lunging at an officer and pushing him down. As a result, several officers dropped their shields, which Quaglin and other rioters stole and passed back into the crowd.

As the officers continue to retreat backwards, around 2:36 p.m., QUAGLIN once again can be seen on BWC footage lunging at an MPD Officer. Other rioters then pull QUAGLIN back and guard, the officers as the officers fall back into a stairwell…

I realized why Defendant QUAGLIN looked and sounded so familiar, see David Lee Judd they were both in the tunnel

3:07 p.m., directly into the face of an MPD officer who was not wearing a face shield or gas mask. He can later be seen at the front of the line pushing up against the same MPD Officer he sprayed with the chemical irritant, as the crowd yells “heave ho” and puts their collective mass behind Quaglin and others. Quaglin remained on the front-line of rioters impeding police until approximately 3:18 p.m. when he was pushed out of the tunnel with other rioters.

There’s a tiny detail that I think you should be aware of - the Defendant purportedly paid for six (6) hotel rooms. The estimated cost is likely north of $950.00 but the questions should be, why six hotel rooms? who stayed in those rooms? Who paid for those rooms?

The Government then proffers a fractional sampling of the evidence they’ve collected- QUAGLIN made various social media post or sent private messages going back as far as November 2020 - while the affidavit doesn’t directly state QUAGLIN was/is a Proud Boys member… it is directly implied that he was “standing by sir” - when the FBI received a tip from Witness 1 that affirmatively identified the Defendant but that witness also provided the FBI with additional info that culminated in yesterday’s arrest.

“I'm going to war”; “I'm writing my letter to my wife and people will have it. But I might not even make it back”; “I'm bringing the big cock”; “I'm taking jin to a knife fight”; “I'm really ready to just the kamikaze.” Latest Capitol defendant went by “Chris Trump” on Facebook.

Do you want to see actual consciousness of guilt behavior? I now refer you to paragraph 40 in the Affidavit - this is textbook behavior.

I say this with a bit of outrage - yesterday’s minutes of QUAGLIN’s initial appearance https://ecf.njd.uscourts.gov/doc1/119117214106 - read what I highlighted closely - I would expect that later today the USAO-DC will file an emergency stay of the New Jersey Magistrate Judge’s order releasing the defendant

As it relates to “conditions of release” this is extraordinarily lenient - beyond the requirement to remove all firearms within 24 hours is the only restriction that seems to have any teeth - remember the Magistrate’s Order is “stayed” for 24 hours.
