February 6, 2021 Government Memo in Support of Detention

Now that you have a decent knowledge and factual foundation of the Criminal charges against Ethan Nordean, I would like to walk you through the newly filed Memorandum of Support Detention (available via ECF/PACER or via my public drive which the Government filed on February 6, 2021

I am somewhat surprised investigators didn’t obtain a warrant for Nordean’s business, which is a gym (also archived here and here) but after further research, it is possible that his gym is now closed. His company which filed with the Washington State Corporation Commission (WA-SCC) in the summer of 2019, PanMan,LLC was administratively dissolved due to “delinquency” in filing. I pulled his company’s WA-SCC file(s),

PRETRIAL DETENTION SOUGHT

According to the newly filed, MEMORANDUM IN SUPPORT OF PRETRIAL DETENTION (docketed on February 6, 2021), the Government submitted and disclosed the following;

• January 6, 2021, appeared to have been coordinated and Defendant spoke directly with Gieswein shortly before Pezzola and Gieswein entered the Capitol Building through the exterior window broken by Pezzola.

• February 3, 2021, Federal Law Enforcement executed a judicially authorized search and seizure warrant on Nordean’s home. Of the items seized;

  Defendant’s laptop computer and cellular telephone; Clothing and other items bearing Proud Boys’ logos and insignia; Clothing matching the photographs above taken on January 6, 2021;

• Ledgers, notebooks, and other records related to Proud Boys operations;

• Digital camera with stored photographs; Go Pro digital video camera with stored videos; Radio system matching those seen in photographs taken on January 6, 2021, that was used by Proud Boys leaders to communicate with one another; and

• Valid, unsigned, U.S. Passport, issued to another individual with a comparative likeness to Defendant. (The passport was recovered from a bedside table along with a legitimate passport issued to Defendant’s wife.)

Sidebar - Enrique “Henry” Tarrio does have a history of working with and for the FBI, this recent Reuters article, states Tarrio was a “prolific” informer. It should be noted the case in question commenced in 2012. In 2013 Tarrio entered into a plea agreement and he received a substantial downward spiral of his sentence. If you read page 3, paragraph 8 the Government stated:

the defendant has assisted authorities in the investigation or prosecution of his own misconduct by timely notifying authorities of his intention to enter a plea of guilty

Ethan Nordean - Pintrest (current) Account, archive from two (2) years ago, updated archive. Diving deeper into Notdean’s Pinterest “pin” entitled “guns-n-stuff”, (archived) which Nordean updated approximately twelve (12) days ago:

The Memorandum in Support of Detention states, on December 29, 2020 Proud Boys Chairman Henry “Enrique” Tarrio posted on social media following “directive”:

Tarrio announced that the Proud Boys would “turn out in record numbers on Jan 6th but this time with a twist… We will not be wearing our traditional Black and Yellow. We will be incognito and we will be spread across downtown DC in smaller teams. And who knows….we might dress in all BLACK¹ for the occasion.”

The Government goes on to include additional information about Nordean’s history of physical violence and then using that “fame” to rise within the ranks of the Proud Boys Leadership and increased appearances on Alex Jones’ InfoWars.

Defendant has been present at a number of Proud Boys protests—including,..Portland, Oregon, where he was made “internet famous” for knocking out a counter protester during a street brawl.

On the day of the January 6, 2021 deadly insurrection, indeed the Defendant abided by Tarrio’s “directive” and came dressed in “all black” and outfitted in a military-style vest, thereby following the previous directive.

Included in the Government’s February 6, 2021 Memorandum in Support of Detention, prosecutors included several new pictures. As happenstance would have it, I have an ongoing research file. And the following picture (which you can find on page 5 of the filing), Nordean is the man in the middle, to his right is Joseph Biggs and to his left is none other than Zach Relh, President of the Proud Boys, Philadelphia Chapter.

Last month, I tweeted this video and then provided the link to this online database. Which positively identified the man on the left as Zach Rehl. Antidotally when I tweeted the video I was adamant in drawing your attention to the communication device (walkie talkie on his shoulder) and that
