Family vacation at VA beach last year this week. 2 LARGE men and a big 15yo boy were caught in rip current and panicked. My husband ran in to get them out. Got to one and he started screaming, "save my son"! The boy was closer to the shore, so he dragged the dad a few feet in. Got to the boy and he said that he was tired and he was giving up. My husband begged him to hold on. He threw this kid that was easy 200#, over his shoulder and started swimming in. Just about then the lifeguards got there. Our cousin was closest to the shore, over 300#, and he said he thought he was going to pass out. So, back in goes my husband... I was so scared for all of them. My hubs was exhausted. So, everyone clears out, we go back to enjoying the sounds of the beach, and 2 elderly women decide they're going to walk out into the water. AND ONE OF THEM gets sucked in. My husband jumps up and goes running. I had no idea what happened until he got back. The lifeguards, that were only about 15 ft from where we were sitting had no idea either.
Moral of the story, stay out of the water when they post warnings, especially if you don't know what to do when it happens, cause it probably will!!!
I have an unrelated question for the information queen. If a church affiliated organization is not required to and does not file a form 990, how does one did into their financial expenses or revenues? Impossible?
Generally speaking the church obtains a tax exempt ID but one thing you can do is request a copy of their tax returns and/or the Church’s annual fiscal audit/report —that’s the work around I’d use
The air temp seems super consistent this time of year there. And I'm guessing mosquitoes aren't a problem with the coastal breeze? Gotta love that Gulfstream!
It depends a few years ago (I think it was either Hurricane Irene or Matthew) the mosquitoes were unbearable. The ongoing beach nourishment projects, the dunes have large swaths of wet swampy (ish) areas which is perfect for mosquitoes. It hit about 85 degrees and the ocean temp was 79.2 which is likely attributed to how the gulf stream is hugging the point
It really is me. Finding you has been the bright spot in what has been a rather difficult last 10 months (no elaboration). I read your Blue-Q post and processed it all like a prequel. How difficult and life-altering your experience must have been...sending the biggest virtual hugs and love. Interestingly, another big account I follow warned me off of "the enabler"!

oh my goodness. That is not a vacation and those lifeguards must be reported. Your husband is a hero.
Holy Toledo — your husband sounds like an absolute rock star…
I’m happy for you! A whole month is awesome!!!
Enjoy yourself, it’s well deserved.
So beautiful. Thank you! Side note: I probably would be somewhat in the ocean. This is a warm temperature!
