After three weeks -the list of projects and green light via permit inspections now complete, so it’s time to pack it up and return to DC. But taking the time to enjoy one last sunrise and I thought I’d share it with you.
And because one of my littles was super proud of their project - and what better way to teach them algebra via angle cuts. That they would have none of my “the hot tub already has beverage holders”. No they were adamant and wanted to create a new beverage shelf. Unbeknownst to me they had pulled out the tape measure and calculated the average arm length and optimum height of their shelf.
the Fish/Scaling bench also complete with hot and cold water -that almost turned into an epic fight until my other half used it and was like “I shouldn’t argue with you - you know what you’re doing” <—LOLs - if you look closely in the outdoor shower we installed 2 shelves for shampoo and soap - but because I’m slightly OCD I wanted the shelves to line up with the barn-style door. It’s true measure twice and only cut once.
And yes of course we can’t leave without organizing the leftover wood - liability insurance something something. Adulting is hard
At any rate I look forward to returning in October -most don’t know that the ocean tends to be warmer than 77 degrees until the first frost. And the locals squeeze every bit of summer out of the ocean.

My mother enjoyed fishing and what came after. Us littles were generally grossed out by it. And my dad would help her skin the catfish when she caught them (not the ocean, certainly). And my dad helped us create things in his basement workshop. I still have a laminated keychain I made for my grandmother. Oh, Spicy - thanks for the memories.
I love to be on the beach in the fall. No crowds, so peaceful. Take that any day over a hot summer day!
