Happy Saturday - enjoy the sunset
I’m still very much alive but the recovery is going much slower than I expected.
It’s NOT a sunrise - it’s an Ocean sunset on The Point
We’ve spent the better part of a decade & a hefty investment in our rental property. Our neighbors, many of whom, are mainly full time residents look out for us & our home. A few years ago one neighbor (who’s family literally owns the Trash Company, Water Plant and numerous Vacation Property Management Companies on the island) finally trusted us with the “secret” beaches that only the real locals know about.
The Point offers both sunrise and sunsets of the Ocean. You just need to know which unmarked road to take. I can’t share the exact location because my neighbor/friend trusted me. The Point (see what I did there) offers both Sunrises and Sunsets. Again you just need to know which unmarked beach road to take… my husband decided to take the littles to the point and capture the sunset and moonrise.
USAA Claims Adjuster & Inspector…
earlier today USAA sent us photos they took at the salvage yard of my totaled car. Perhaps I might have unwittingly downplayed the Oct 9th car accident because I didn’t actually realize how bad the accident was until I downloaded the pictures from our Insurance company.
I am genuinely amazed that all I walked away with was a broken nose, front teeth knocked out and two fractures on my foot. Realistically I’m probably not going to be publishing any meaningful articles until later next week. Keep in mind the Dr was like “the next couple of days will absolutely suck. So you just need to embrace the suck and stop being stubborn take the damn pain medicine” — By next Thursday or Friday I get the joy of having the packing taken out of my nose. The Dr told me that approximately 2 hours before my appointment I should take two doses of pain meds. He said it’s going to hurt a lot & you’ll probably want to punch me… I guess my reputation proceeds me.
USAA already wired transferred some funds so we can buy a new car. I am genuinely shocked at the damage. I knew it was a car accident but for some reason I had convinced myself it wasn’t a big deal. And not that I’m endorsing any car maker but I have to say that my car did what it was designed to do — minimize bodily harm during a pretty bad crash.
I have about a week & a half left on the Island and then we return to DC. We only have two other projects around the house. I’m going to take a little more time off to really let my body heal — for the next 6 weeks I can’t do my daily 3-5 mile run, which is my stress relief. At any rate -yes I’m still alive. And yes I’m trying to take care of myself. Sending you well wishes and a note of appreciation for the concerns my readers have offered. It’s been heartening and truly appreciative. I have the best readers and I’m grateful to each of you. Be Well and Be Happy -Filey
As much as I love (LOVE) your research and articles, I'd much rather deal with my impatience while you heal your body and soul. Be well, get healthy.
Jeez, you really downplayed the accident. Follow the Docs orders and take the meds.
Love the vids of sunset/sunrises.
Please be good to you; we can wait for your genius, with bated breath!
