Gosh it’s almost like I regret nothing in this August 2020 archived thread. And I mean nothing. Imagine that -how dare someone did a lot of research and then a bunch of it was lifted by QAnon-for-the-Left conspiracy theorist. Who tweets like they are either drunk or abusing his ADD RXs & Xanax and clearly do not have a job beyond tweeting. Pray tell the sudden and new defense “Mr. Debbins’ mental pathology” would be sufficient to defend the espionage (over an extended period of time) the pivot to “I fear for the safety of my wife and four daughters” no being a traitor with narcissistic and sociopathic tendencies doesn’t get you a reduced sentence.
But when that didn’t work Defendant Debbins pulled the LGBTQ Card as the root cause of his mental health struggles. To be fair that’s kind of a convincing argument but certainly using it at the proverbial 11th hour - seems contrived and desperate…

Debbins has made numerous mitigating statements—in his letter to the Court and as part of the psychiatric assessment—that conflict with his admissions in the Statement of Facts and to the Federal Bureau of Investigation

…has not accepted responsibility for his conduct beyond entering the guilty plea. In his letter to the Court, he casts himself as the victim, expresses remorse about participating in the interviews with the FBI rather than for the consequences of his conduct…
The October 2019 Failed Polygraph - the footnote is also pretty intriguing. Also nearly 55% of the Government’s reply is (heavily) redacted but you can infer it is about the (ongoing) National Security Threat Debbins imposed on our Country1.
Debbins suggests that he failed a “2019 FBI polygraph” because he “thought [his] wife and daughter were working for the GRU.” Def.’s Ltr. 3. As explained in the attached declaration, the FBI administered a polygraph to Debbins in October 2019 to determine whether he continued to conspire with Russian intelligence after 2011….
footnote -The government includes the information that Debbins failed this polygraph examination solely to provide the context of Debbins’s inconsistent statement in his letter, not as a factor to be considered in determining Debbins’s sentence.

The Court finds the guidelines to be properly assessed at a range of 188 to 235 months. Considering the factors under § 3553, the defendants age and length and depth of the conspiracy the Court finds that a sentence at the low end of the guideline range is appropriate.
Deft committed to the custody of the US Attorney General to serve a term of 188 months with a 5-year SR term and assessed $100. Cond. of SR: Abide by the Standard Conditions of Probation. The Court recommends that defendants be incarcerated as close to the Washington Metropolitan Area as possible.
At any rate here’s a recent docket report that I uploaded to my public drive - I kind of expect that Debbins will (Foolishly) file an appeal but he fortified that right under the Terms and Conditions of his signed plea agreement23
