I'm here for your meta and I have popcorn. Spicey. I have to disagree with you for once and say that he IS getting the representation he deserves. I think his best WHY-excuse would be that he intended to eat those docs over the winter.

Oh that’s an interesting prospective, but again in my industry if you’re a shitty person you tend to hire attorneys that best match your predominate characteristic trait(s) —but you’re right Trump is getting the exact (shittyAF) representation that he deserves. I think the Special Master Motion is a rouse to delay the inevitable. At this point the DOJ has no other choice to indict him —otherwise imagine the precedence a declination would present

Delay, delay, delay, and maybe find a judge who should "owe" him.

I was in my kitchen at 12:20 am this morning chowing down a bowl of Apple Jacks while reading DOJ's filing. DOJ came in so hot it's a wonder my damned kitchen didn't catch fire!! So much more has been explained today that my brain just feels like there's a morass of info floating around in there.🤪🤪🤪 A few things have floated to the top though. This sentence from page 3 caught my attention last night: "Even if the Court had jurisdiction to entertain Plaintiff’s claims, appointment of a special master is unnecessary and would significantly harm important governmental interests, including national security interests." "Even if the Court had jurisdiction . . ." So DOJ is questioning Judge Cannon's authority to rule on the matter at all? Does #TraitorTrump think HE'S going to select the Special Master personally? I've got news for him. DOJ's gonna insist on someone who ALREADY has the required security clearance to view the materials. It ain't gonna be one of #TraitorTrump's "As Seen on TV" strip mall lawyers! Finally, your comments about how even #TraitorTrump deserves adequate counsel spoke to my inner history geek. In 1770, John Adams, subsequently the 2nd POTUS, defended 8 British soldiers involved in the Boston Massacre. He got 6 of them aquited. Afterwards, he was quoted as saying "The Part I took in Defence of Cptn. Preston and the Soldiers, procured me Anxiety, and Obloquy enough. It was, however, one of the most gallant, generous, manly and disinterested Actions of my whole Life, and one of the best Pieces of Service I ever rendered my Country." Thus endeth the history lesson. Get plenty of rest & eat your Wheaties friends. The closer we get to indicting #TraitorTrump, the wilder things are gonna get!

It is so hard not to just blow a gasket that this LARD is not in the slammer already. If you have ever been around the stress of keeping documents secure and the ramifications of f-ing up, you know the frustration and anger that this egregious, thieving a-hole evokes. This can't move fast enough- here's hoping his blundering stupidity and arrogance regarding rule of law is finally coming to its foregone conclusion.

I tried to read Trump’s response and it was all so much gibberish. I did read the DOJ’s 36 page filing (including the footnotes) and It felt like I was reading a spicy novel—no pun intended. 😁 Thanks for breaking it down.

I commend you for being able to read the whole thing. I got through 5-6 pages and just couldn't anymore. I'm not a lawyer, just a nerdy engineer, but almost every sentence had something I could pick apart as either wrong, offensive, or improper. That his lawyer continues to refer to him as President Trump, nope he is Former President Trump or Mr. Trump shows a lack of respect for protocol. Then add in assertions of ill behavior on the part of law enforcement with no evidence is just offensive, and looks bad. Then he first claims standing because of executive privilege which he in fact no longer has. Then claims standing as a private resident in his home. Well which is it? And the idea that he should see the ODNI stuff, is bonkers. He no longer holds any clearance or "need to know" and neither does his attorney. And don't get me started on the declassification BS - the documents don't have the proper declassification marking and there's no paper trail. He took stuff and didn't belong to him, was given opportunity and latitude to return it, and didn't, and lied about it. The next few days should be interesting.

How about him going for insanity defense. By declaring he still thinks he is prez. Delutional disorder- He's probs too arrogant to go for insanity.

However, they all could be going for continuing to rile the base because they think he's the legit prez.

I also would like to know, who, in a workplace, would be given latitude to return stolen security docs? I don't think so...

I love the info you provide. Clear, concise and makes me smile! Thank you for sharing. I keep wondering if the orange Mussolini will ask for one of his gold toilets to be installed in his cell? I’m just so tired of him, he makes me weary.

I'm not a doctor. I don't even play one on TV.😉 But IMHO we're all suffering from PSTD. Emotional & psychic exhaustion brought on by years of being subjected to the demented ravings of a malignant narcissistic blowhard who never shuts up!

I certainly trust the DOJ and Merrick Garland, and I know they are doing their jobs because they have one chance at getting this right. However, I'm ready to have him indicted for this crime. I'm over it and over his delay, deny, distract responses

Mic, this is a rollercoaster of a read this morning.

"What I am suggesting is you need to prepare yourself for advance level subterfuge and arguing the semantics because that’s the only move left for Trump" is a very important heads up for us all.

"The likelihood that everyday since August 8th Trump wakes up in a panic: that absolutely delights me." Yuuuup, we're all with ya on that one...

Under "plus ça change, plus c'est la même chose" is your accurate Trumpian observation "the 'say it enough and people will believe it’s true' doctrine"

And, of course the most terrifying Jesus Christ in your piece is "the scope of the impact of giving the “criminal target” unfettered access to the evidence the Government has collected would mean our entire Rule of Law would be upended…" because the judge may actually do it.

Please follow your therapist's advice, here to "take a few moments everyday and just enjoy the beauty of life". I deeply struggle with this these days, too, as do we all who have suffered tremendous losses.

Bisous
