My brother served in Vietnam. My Uncle Mick went down with the USS Scorpion in 1968. My Dad, several uncles, one aunt & several cousins all served. It makes me want to vomit to think that any active duty, reserve, or retired military participated in the traitorous, seditious riot that took place on 1/6/2021 where injuries minor & severe were sustained, trauma was inflicted & lives were lost . . . but they did. In my humble opinion, the oath they took has no expiration date & means they should be held to a higher standard. Active-duty & reservist personnel deserve to be stripped of rank, dishonorably discharged & given a one-way ticket to Leavenworth. Civil penalties should be dealt out to retirees if they're no longer subject to UCMJ. They tried to overthrow the election for fuck's sake! Pardon my French but I have zero patience with this bullshit!

I knew in my bones there was a reason I like you - growing up in a military family, it’s engrained in us to respect patriotism and those who serve our Country. I genuinely struggled with writing this because of the “hard wired” respect for our Military and especially our Veterans. I really don’t understand why the USAO-DC thinks a plea agreement is “in the public’s best interest” —like you said the standard of conduct is significantly higher for those who serve. I really tried my best to reign in my personal bias but fear I didn’t try hard enough AND I wish more folks paid attention to these purported plea agreements. Unfortunately I want jury trials. I want these individuals to be dishonorably discharged and forfeiture of their retirement & other benefits.

I hesitated for a moment before hitting send because I got kinda mouthy at the end. I'm gonna get mouthy again & say this shit pisses me off to no end!!

I wish you every success with the dental work. I regret to say I have a wisdom tooth & two others that I need to have pulled. Just trying to get them on the schedule. Not looking forward to it but thank God they don't hurt . . . yet. Take care!😉

Holy crow ! If you or I or a non white person/poc did an eighth of what these supposed 'Patriots' did, we would be quartered and then either put in permanent solitary confinement at florence adx. Or executed. I cant comprehend that some are not in jail and are wheeling and dealing plea agreements. There really is /are two systems of justice....dear God. How sad.

Good luck tomorrow! Be well yourself and you will be with some of that liquid medication for all that drilling !

Heal your mind and your body.

Motion seconded but yes this article was an exercise in intellectual honesty. I’m really surprised by the DOJ’s willingness to hammer our plea agreements. FFS these are members of the Military who took an oath. That is a lifetime oath and it sets a horrible precedence and example for other defendants. I mean I understand the dichotomy of this article and I tried to focus on the facts contained herein the various dockets. But I’m just not okay with the DOJ pitching plea agreements. The betrayal of their lifetime oath is something that I refuse to overlook. I do wish more in the MSM would actually read the Government’s filings. I ran a LexisNexis search not a single media outlet reported on the Government’s Jan 5th/6th filing and I’m not okay with being silent because I know my readers trust my reporting and that’s not something I’ll ever take for granted

Quite the failure of the 4th estate....I am right there with you. It makes ordinary citizens like us become jaded and cynical because the rule of law that should be equally applied to all is being thumbed in our faces.

Thank you for all your hard work and unflinching honesty.

Solitary to all of us....

My pleasure as I mentioned I ran multiple LexisNexis searches and I couldn’t find a single article about Defendant Christopher Warnagiris’ & the Government’s recent filing. Which is why I drilled down on that filing. As for tomorrow it’s round 2 -the 1sr attempt resulted in two hairline fractures of my jaw. Which resulted in an infection and a 21 day course of antibiotics. Fingers crossed that I’ll be back to my normal snarky spicy self by Jan 14th. It seems crazy that some 90+days later I’m still dealing with injuries sustained in the Oct 2020 car accident.

Oh Filey…first and foremost, good luck tomorrow with your procedure. You’ve been through so much. It’s really amazing how much you’ve endured…hope the pain meds bring some comfort.

I have family that served & am the mom to a Marine. I’m absolutely floored and angry. It’s an egregious act of domestic terror if you’re using the training, weaponry, & combat strategies you’ve been given, to turn on your own government. Men & women who serve go on to highly specialized training after they complete boot camp. Each service may differ but the men & women go into more specific career paths in the military. That is how you get ahead & build your career. In Marine Corp, whatever your specialized training is, you must commit 2 years before switching. Boot camp entails, marksmanship, physical prowess, hand to hand combat, chemical weapons & maneuvering through highly stressful exercises. These skills are for combat..not to be used against fellow Americans. A trained military member is far more threatening than any of the other insurrectionist. Plea deals should not be granted….ugh…..

I’ll be fine -or at least that’s what I keep telling myself. I’m really glad you saw this article because I remember you sharing your family’s own honorable service to our Country. I’m grateful to anyone who decides to join the Armed Services because (aa you know) that’s the epitome of true patriotism. I tried my best to present the facts in an agonist manner but fear I may have fallen short. I only researched this for a little while. I had to (for my own mental well being) truncate my research but I just can’t wrap my head around the DOJ’s (recent Motion) “in the public’s best interest” as the foundational pretext for a plea agreement.

I do wish that the MSM would have reported last week’s filing by the Government because “Major” Christopher WARNAGIRIS, assaulted numerous law enforcement officers. And the notion that they are negotiating a plea agreement is pretty offensive. It also dishonors those who are serving or did serve our Country with honor and distinction. Knowing that Defendant’s most recent TDY in the Marines was the same unit that manages Marine #1 & #2 —I’ll admit I saw pure crimson red. However should any of these Pisa Agreements result in the prosecution and/or outing of other military members, I’m still not okay with it. As you know serving in the Armed Forces should mean those women/men need to be held to a much higher standard. Sorry to word dump but in some respects this is how I work through the nearly daily WTFINGF is this madness. Sending you a virtual hug

Sending you a hug too and I agree 100%. It is a tiny minority of Americans who serve. It is such a sacrifice for the men & women & their families. I have 2 uncles who served in Marine Corp & Army too. They wore their uniforms with pride. They had stories from WW2 and Korean War. They have both passed but would have been horrified to see this article. When my son flew to Patti’s Island, there was an Army Colonel’s wife seated next to him. She took my sons photo and write me a beautiful text…I cry when I read it. To sum it up, she wrote that she was a mother & wife of service members & it was her honor to pass a kindness & let me know she sat next to my son & had a lovely conversation & that he would be ok….that note meant everything. It showed me the kind of family support that the military would offer us. I had just said goodbye hours earlier knowing the next 3 months I would not be able to talk or see him aside from a matrix I had of the training. She was the epitome of grace…reaching out to a scared mom & extending a lovely note. Will never forget. Big hug Filey!!!❤️

It’s a lot of information but I felt like someone needed to explain why the DOJ negotiating plea agreements for/with active or former members of the Armed Services is absolutely unacceptable - I tried hard to limit my personal animus but even I can admit I’m disgusted

Hope tomorrow goes well. Stay ahead of the pain - a lesson learned the hard way!

Both mom and dad served during WWII - and while my mom rarely spoke of it, my dad savored his memories. These dregs need to go away for a good, long time. Til their skin sags and their hair hangs in oily strings and they wonder where the sunlight went.
