I am horrified beyond belief about the children, dead, injured and so many thousands now at grave risk of all kinds of evil. Including right wing “Adoptions”! Frankly I think Putin is pissed at Trump’s failure of a deliverable. All too confident to believe Trump’s “believe me” about NATO’s fracture being beyond repair. And given Trump still won’t slam the guy, there is little doubt that what we’ll see in 2024 will make 2016 look like a fond memory. Putin deliberately targets children because he knows no one will stop him. It’s the “whose gonna stop me” and “prove it” at the same time. Trump is absolutely no different. We’ve got his entire inner circle suing to shield their records while themselves innocent and insurrectionists POWs. It’s just all so horrifying.
It is probably both terrifying and terrible for Putin (and karmaic, too) that RU's demography is becoming unsustainable (hence his need to add more territory and people to his country; no one except Snowden would really want to emigrate there, for God's sake)
When I was in St. Petersburg a decade ago, in a private convo, pressed waaay past etiquette, the married guide admitted that she didn't think it would be feasible to have a child in RU
And it certainly isn't helping that Putin's war is decimating the ranks of young men in his country
