The day of (potential) reckoning for the Gun Manufacturers. You should read their written testimony & watch their oral testimony. I’m pretty sure the NRA gave the exes “direction” aka talking points
Thank you for this!!! The NRA continues to demonstrate what an evil enterprise it is. This arming teachers nonsense REALLY needs to go away, nevermind the NRA itself.
I may have titled my head towards the sky (after reading the written testimony) and uttered a variety of variations using the F word. The notion that arming teachers, only allowing one entry/exit point aka hardening the schools —it is absolutely not the solution. As you know I’m convinced there’s a special place in heaven for teachers. Teaching is one of the very last noble professions and it’s unreasonable to advocate for arming them.
Hypothetically speaking:
-what happens if a student finds a teacher’s gun?
-who holds the liability, the school district or the teacher?
-what happens if LEO mistakenly thinks a teacher is the active shooter?
-reducing a singular egress and digress to one point —I’m pretty sure the local fire marshals will have a few words to that ill-conceived notion…
I mean those are the questions off the top of my head —imagine my follow up questions after conducting additional hours researching that ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Excellent questions. To add, the teachers who would want to be armed are the LAST ones who should be. Also, the chances of the shooter being a former student makes the whole thing much worse.
Love Rep. Maloney so much and I’m sorry but I hope she she beats Rep Nadler in the midterms. She is killing it as Chair.
I’m also hopeful that the new ATF Director Steven Dettelbach is gonna kick ass and take names. The NRA tried to stop his confirmation but so sad, too bad they failed. I was hoping to see him in that Lester Holt interview with AG Garland yesterday when they visited the ATF Tracing Center.

I’m aware in June I had explained that it’s been SEVEN years since a Senate Confirmed ATF Director has been confirmed.
The NRA is a disgusting organization and that’s coming from a former employee because I couldn’t continue working for them

Thanks for this! Unfortunately my conservative estimate is thousands more kids will die :(
Free muskets for everyone! I'm sure the Founding Fathers thought pocket-sized laser-disintegrator-guns were fine, too.
