There's no reason for anyone outside of the military to have an AR 15, but I will settle for putting a 21 age requirement. We will have to vote like crazy to win the midterms for this to happen though.

As for those assholes in TX, those text messages are very telling. They will continue to pivot, turn, and blame everyone but themselves. I cannot express the fury I feel for this whole mess.

Big hug. Please do take care of yourself ❤️

100% agree -the notion of hardening the schools and arming teachers is not the solution. I think Ulavde will be used for decades to come on teaching law enforcement what not to do. The lack of actual transparency and facts —it’s infuriating because the victim’s families deserve to know the whole truth. My educated guess is we are ultimately going to find out Mayor McLaughlin and “Chief” Arredondo pivoted to self preservation versus being truthful to the victims, their families and the public at large

We have had way too many mass shootings in Texas. After each one Abbott has done nothing but grandstand, lie and coverup for his NRA money boys. He is again calling on the legislature to have committees and yada yada yada round tables etc etc. he did the same thing after the other mass shootings. As state Senator Roland Gutierrez stated to Wolf Blitzer, Abbott is again attempting to bamboozle the public. Anyone who knows Texas government realizes the legislature does not meet in even numbered years. The only way the legislature can do anything is for the idiot governor to call a special session. Does anyone hear him calling that session? *crickets*

The “press conference” they held immediately after the incident was intended as a campaign rally for Abbott. Beto knew that and called BS on Abbott. The mayor cussing out Beto and the republicans saying Beto was playing politics. Nope - Beto was spot on and created the furor causing this fiasco to be investigated.

Thank you for putting this entire report together in spite of your personal tragedy. The deaths of these children must not be swept under another NRA carpet and snow job.

I don’t disagree with you -I’m currently researching a follow up article where I’m back tracing the various laws Gov Abbott has signed. The nexus, I believe (and trust me I have a lot of family in Texas. Half the time they won’t claim me and vice-versa) under Abbott & the TX state legislature have enacted laws that make access to guns easier. It’s not about “gun control” it’s really about commonsense gun laws. Moreover Daniel Defense AR-15s have been used in at least 3 other TX mass shootings. And don’t get me wrong I like to shoot but this gun culture of ours is unique to America. I recently spent a small fortune making sure my kids have bulletproof backpacks. And I couldn’t help but think —this is not what our forefathers intended with the 2nd Amendment. The local gun shop I truly believe had a moral & ethical obligation to ask the murderer “why are you purchasing 2 AF-15s & thousand of rounds of .223 caliber ammunition. The soft tissue damage of that caliber is beyond words.
