I know why Ray Roseberry talked about coins and if one of my readers could let @oneunderscore_ know about the YouTube video found at the end of this article I’d be deeply appreciative… also based on the facts contained herein —I’m beginning to think Roseberry didn’t actually have a bomb or explosive materials but the affidavit does state some of the items seized have been sent to the FBI Lab in Quantico. So I’d stay tuned for additional facts to be proffered.

August 20, 2021 -Charges
18 U.S.C. § 2332a(a)(2)(A) -Weapons of Mass Destruction - which carries a maximum penalty of “life in prison” -important to note this statute includes “the threat” of using a device.
18 U.S.C. § 844(e) -Explosives —which is interesting, provided you read the statute:
“…willfully makes any threat, or maliciously conveys false information knowing the same to be false, concerning an attempt or alleged attempt being made, or to be made, to kill, injure, or intimidate any individual or unlawfully to damage or destroy any building…. by means of fire or an explosive shall be imprisoned for not more than 10 years or fined under this title, or both”

As I have long stated; breaking. news can change hour by hour and often minute by minute. Sometimes it is best to slow down and allow the facts to emerge. August 20, 2021 Affidavit (see DDC-ECF 3) in support of a Criminal Complaint (see DDC-ECF) as to Defendant Roseberry. If you take the time to read the affidavit and if you know what to look for and what it means then you can obtain a factual basis of the August 19, 2021 “bomb scare”
For Example on Page 1 of the Affidavit, specifically paragraph 3
the affiant is currently assigned to the FBI Washington Field Office…
“to a squad responsible for domestic terrorism investigations“
“9:45 a.m. on August 19, 2021, the FBI responded to assist U.S. Capitol Police with a bomb threat made by an individual later identified as FLOYD RAY ROSEBERRY, a resident of Grover, North Carolina. ROSEBERRY had reportedly claimed to have a bomb and a detonator in his possession.”
This is why I highlighted the charges and specifically drew your attention to 18 U.S.C. § 844(e) -Explosives and the language in the statute that speaks to “threat” and “…conveys false information knowing the same to be false, concerning an attempt or alleged attempt being made..”
Roseberry’s family member contacted local police:
“…was obtained from a government database” (emphasis added) Typically if the FBI obtains a photograph from a Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV), they simply state “obtained from the DMV” …so I found it odd that the affidavit states “a government database” —I guess you could argue the inference here is the North Carolina Department of Motor Vehicles. But again typically the affiant states “DMV” —again it could be nothing
Solid cooperation between State, Local & Fed LEO:
On August 19, 2021… a local law enforcement official in Cleveland County, North Carolina contacted the FBI to report that the official recognized ROSEBERRY as the subject of a report received the previous day, on August 18, 2021, by a person (W-1) related to ROSEBERRY…
…W-1 had reported their concern that ROSEBERRY had recently expressed anti-government views and an intent to travel to Virginia or Washington, D.C. to conduct acts of violence. W-1 also reported that ROSEBERRY had stated that he “ordered a trench coat to protect him from Taser and pepper ball guns and he would just tip his cowboy hat at the police.”
While Facebook should be lauded for their swift action to take Roseberry’s various live streams down —it became difficult to find any or all of Roseberry’s videos. Setting aside the 1 to 1.5 minute clips that began to proliferate social media. Notwithstanding I was able find what appears to be a full length video of Roseberry’s last live stream (with commentary) because if you listen carefully to the purported last live stream of Roseberry he makes several contradictory statements concerning the “bomb” isn’t really an “explosive” and that’s important when reading pages 5 and 6 of the affidavit. Which reads in part:
“Hey, call the police and tell them to come out here and clear the Capitol. Tell them to clear the Capitol. Tell them to clear it. These fucking people think I’m joking, don’t they. Hey ma’am, will you call them? I’ve called 911 a couple times. Tell them to come out here and clear this fucking place out. They need to clear that ‘cause I got a bomb in here. I don’t want nobody hurt. Yes sir, I don’t want nobody hurt. I’m not coming here to hurt nobody. I’m not lying, tell them there’s some more.”

Post Arrest:
At approximately 2:15 pm, ROSEBERRY was taken into custody by law enforcement. In a post-arrest interview, ROSEBERRY confirmed his identity. After ROSEBERRY’s arrest, the can that ROSEBERRY was observed holding was recovered in the front seat of the truck. The can was old and rusted and had approximately 1- 2” of an unknown powder in the bottom of it. A fabricated trigger was attached to the top of the can. The can was sent to an FBI laboratory for further examination.

To be clear his YouTube channel only has one video uploaded. He created this YouTube channel on January 17, 2021– and if the public reporting is correct that Roseberry had financial struggles —perhaps that one video he posted could be important— meaning if he sold those rare coins to fund the purchase of his “bomb” components, etc then common sense dictates that this video could be important.
