The Trump Appointee Sh_ttening has commenced: Federico Guillermo Klein

First known Trump Appointee charged for his role in the Deadly Insurrection - the Affidavit is kind of extraordinary both in terms of detail and what he did...

Federico Klein, a former State Department aide, was arrested Thursday, March 4, 2021 at his Annandale Virginia home, for his participation in the deadly insurrection.
Again I do not engage or condone doxing, yes the Federal Elections Committee Website is in the public domain. And anyone with prerequisite and basic skill to run a search can verify the following fact - in 2016 Klein worked for Donald Trump’s presidential campaign.

As to the Affidavit - which reads in part: between approximately 2:43pm and 3:30p.m. in and around the Lower West Terrace of the Capitol Building - The subject, later identified as FEDERICO GUILLERMO KLEIN (KLEIN)

When the FBI released their BOLO seeking more information- on January 21, 2021 an anonymous tipster contacted the FBI via their OPA portal and stated 136-AFO had met “Freddie Klein”

And yes of course his Facebook account is wide open the above photo included in the affidavit, live Facebook URL, found here and archived here

Because the internet archive is acting a bit wonky - I went ahead and grabbed what I could and created a video of his Facebook Account

According to the Affidavit another witness submitted a tip to the FBI via the NTOC and stated that “Freddie Klein” indeed bore a striking resemblance to picture 136-AFO. The investigating agent then confirmed that Klein was a State Department Employee and had subsequently resigned his position on January 6th but withdrew his resignation and then formally submitted it on January 19th. At the time Klein held a “Top Secret” Clearance and his clearance had been renewed as recently as 2019.

On February 10th the Investigating agent then interview Witness-2 (W-2) who was a coworker of Klein’s. W-2 confirmed that Klein was a Schedule-C “political appointee, who started working for the State Department in 2017. The affidavit also disclosed that a search warrant was served on AT & T, Klein’s mobile phone service provider. And confirmed that Klein’s cell phone ping’d off towers near the Capitol

🌶 sidebar - you do know that post 9/11 Congress fortified cellular connectivity by allowing cell providers to install BDA colloquially known as boosters. Those of us who really know DC (not the pretenders), know what the PCS Spectrum snafu met in tunnels (connecting buildings) and metro stations - which meant you almost always temporarily lost service - especially problematic on the Orange Line.

Also if you want to know why I tend to give the FBI a very wide berth, just read these two paragraphs found on pages 3 and 4 of the Affidavit. You’ll note that eight additional tips came in and in nearly all of those tips turned out to be incorrect. Keep in mind the FBI had to spend a significant amount of time and resources to “disqualify those tips” -not really a sermon but just a gentle reminder that the FBI’s investigations are exhaustive and meticulously vetted.

According to the affidavit on Jan6th at 2:43PM the Capitol Security Surveillance footage captured Klein entering the tunnel - smile Freddie you’re on camera both CCTV and BWC.

The BWC footage shows just how violent Klein’s actions were. Klein used a riot shield to block the doors from closing. He refused to obey the audible commands of a Sargent - who repeatedly told Klein “to back up”- this oral command was given at least six (6) times. To no avail Klein continued to advance.

In yet a second BWC - Klein is observed using the purloined riot shield and violently hitting law enforcement officers with the shield.

Additionally the Affidavit cites numerous YouTube videos which depict Klein’s actions as the US Capitol Police and Metropolitan Police struggled to keep the insurrectionist from taking over this entrance. This hand to hand combat is incredibly difficult to watch because what Trump’s supporters did is domestic terrorism. In the end Law Enforcement were able to hold the line and keep the insurrectionist

Klein’s actions can not be justified. He engaged in activities that likely resulted in numerous law enforcement officers sustaining injuries. Starting on page 8 through page 11 of the affidavit- the affiant provides meticulous detail - this link will take you to the 3rd YouTube Video cited in the Affidavit

On page 14 of the affidavit- this actually is really hard to read and watch the YouTube footage - a law enforcement officer (I believe it’s Officer C.M. See previous article found here and here) had been dragged down the stairs by Trump’s mob and Klein repeatedly blocked other law enforcement officers attempting to help their fellow fallen officer. This kind of barbaric and lawless behavior is almost too hard to comprehend given who Klein is.

The reason I highlighted Klein’s retracted Jan6th State Department resignation is - he was still employed by the State Department. As the affidavit states, Klein “physically and verbally engaged with the officers holding the line” -furthermore Klein repeatedly ignored commands from several law enforcement officers to “move back” -but the most egregious part of Klein’s conduct is he repeatedly assaulted officers with a riot shield that he purloined. He then used the shield to not only open a Capitol Door but then used it to prevent the door from shutting.

The video evidence proffered in the Affidavit also shows Klein not only shouting for reinforcements of insurrectionists to come to the front - in a term you could called churn and burn “We need fresh people, need fresh people,” -also I think it’s oddly satisfying that observation made on the night of Jan6th are repeatedly confirmed in the various affidavits. At the time I believe I tweeted “they cycled men in and out - over multiple cycles (which I detailed here on Feb7th)

In closing I would expect that the Government will file a Motion to Detain pending trial. What Klein did is absolutely unacceptable, unAmerican and unpatriotic. It is repugnant behavior that is absolutely indefensible.

If you choose to some how defend the indefensible actions of Trump’s radicalized mob then you should perhaps re-evaluate what it means to be an American. What we all saw on Jan6th was antithetical to true American values. And it’s written in the pages of hundreds of affidavits (Affidavit re Klein found here) Period. Full Stop.
