On January 15, 2021 WILLIAM MCCALL CALHOUN, JR was charged by criminal complaint. He was one of the very first to be charged. As previously noted Vernen Nalley was not only charged but indicted as Calhoun’s Co-Defendant

In the Government’s January 25th Motion - they proffered dozens of social media post made by Calhoun. Charge(s): Restricted Building or Grounds; Violent Entry or Disorderly Conduct; Tampering With a Witness, Victim, or an Informant

In the January 12, 2021 Affidavit, the Government disclosed on November 12, 2020 a concerned citizen (CC-1) telephoned the FBI National Threat Operation Center. CC1 voiced concern of Calhoun’s social media post and what appeared to be numerous threats on Facebook, Twitter and Parler. Some of Calhoun’s social media post, encouraged individuals to “storm the Capitol” but to be “peaceful in their demonstrations” — however Calhoun then encouraged others to “openly carry arms” - if you know Washington DC then you’d know it is categorically unlawful to Open Carry¹ ²(unless you have a permit and even then, there are a lot of restrictions)

The CC-1 read the following social media post to the Agent - not to belabor this point, the CC-1 contracted the FBI National Threat Operation Center on November 12, 2020, almost two months before the deadly insurrection

“some of you will live long enough to be exterminated with extreme prejudice”; it’s going to be hard to buy a beer when Democrats are being shot on site [sic];” and “we are going to kill every last communist who stands in Trump’s way”

In my industry we call this kind of reflexive communication - “mirroring”- this means that the target is either mirroring or mimicking vernacularisms of people who influence their thoughts. In less technical terms if you read Calhoun’s social media posts he sounds identical to Donald Trump, both in terms of linguistics and Trump-ism colloquialisms.

Then it occurred to me the House Impeachment Managers specifically referenced Defendant William Calhoun during their arguments. Additionally given that I had previously and extensively researched Calhoun for two Twitter threads. I was vexed how a “proud liberal Attorney” could suddenly become one of Trump’s most fervent supporters.

In general if something doesn’t logically make sense to me, I tend to research it because I want to understand how someone could literally and unconditionally change their political ideology to swing so dramatically to the right.

At the time Calhoun was charged, I casually tweeted “erm…there’s a co-defendant who’s name is redacted so watch the docket…” I know that to the the untrained eye (I literally read, edit, re-edit and red line the ___ out of legal briefs all day long) that most unwittingly overlooked the redacted rectangle.

Given this is literally what I do for a living, I tend to notice tiny details (remember when nearly everyone overlooked the “related” case in the Roger Stone indictment or Cohen’s Rule 35 or Nader’s related cases) I could go on and on but I won’t bore you with the backwards looking self indulgent prognostications. Instead I will just show you my receipts. Viola the newly unsealed (technically it’s still sealed in DDC) was uploaded to one of the MJ cases docket as an exhibit and thereafter unsealed once Nalley was arrested.

However I purposely waited to see if the mainstream media or reporters who have Fed Courts as their beat - realized what I realized. That the actual indictment was an exhibit. Given that I have zero qualms with “showing my homework” below is the docket for co-defendant Nalley. It is not my issue that some don’t know how to read the docket reports - or how to cross reference MJ cases to CR cases. INDICTMENT https://ecf.gand.uscourts.gov/doc1/055113430297 or via my public drive. Reminder on February 12, 2021 this filing was transmitted to the NDGA from DDC and remained sealed until February 17, 2021 when Nalley was in custody.

Again due to the prolific court filings in the Calhoun & Nalley case, I created a separate folder on my public drive. And yes while Defendant William Calhoun remains in custody - his co-defendant VERDEN Andrew Nalley temporary detention hearing was continued (at the request of the Government) for later today

ORDER as to Verden Andrew Nalley: Detention Hearing REset for 2/19/2021 at 02:00 PM in ATLA Courtroom 2008 before Magistrate Judge Christopher C. Bly. Pending the hearing, Defendant shall be held in custody by the USM and produced for the hearing.
