After reading the thread and (now) deleted tweets - I can’t be friends with someone who’s misrepresenting the facts. I am extremely disappointed in Chris. Yes we would occasionally talk off Twitter. That was me trying to talk him off the ledge. Walking him through his self sabotaging of several friendships. In a weird way we “get each other” - and we would bounce preliminary research off of each other. I considered him a friend and I consider you a friend. I don’t like seeing friends fight. My MO is to try and bridge the gap and see all POV. With the expressed goal of resolving of issues in a reciprocal & amenable manner for all parties involved. After what I saw go down on Twitter between him and Jar - it is very disappointing.
I don’t know what else to call it beyond serious gas lighting. I have repeatedly told Chris that going after you and Loo is a zero sum endeavor. That he should let it go because everyone involved loses. I tried to be his friend. I tried to help heal the fractured friendship between him and Loo and Julia. Cleary to no avail.
What Chris is currently doing is incredibly self destructive.
He tried (to his credit) to fix the issue between Garland and myself. However in March 2020 I texted him and said that our relationship was irreconcilably broken and you can’t fix something that was destroyed and abandoned by another party. Chris told me that he & Garland hadn’t communicated in months. Because Garland was pissed about Chris’ research re Zev. I told Chris what Garland had done to me and to numerous women. I consistently pointed out the times Garland plagiarized his research and created elaborate threads pretending Garland had done the research. Chris seemed disappointed by Garland’s behavior.
The last time we spoke on the phone Chris said “he’s apparently a womanizer and I can’t be friends with that” - There was a sadness and a sense of resignation in his voice.
In the end just I can’t be friends with someone who misrepresented facts. His Twitter thread does that and that’s not something I can or will condone. Is it possible that if Chris were to contact me and apologize that I would likely accept it - maybe but looking at the factual body of evidence I just can’t condone this kind of behavior, at all.
To be clear if Chris were to apologize to me - I would likely not accept it because after what I read and have 1st hand knowledge of - this isn’t the kind of behavior I can or will condone.
I am just going to comment on all of this controversy. From the beginning of Trump getting elected, I immediately joined twitter and sought the insights of LM and Claude back when they were the first individuals reporting info that I felt seemed to be accurate. I was massed blocked in LM block in the beginning, presumably from just joining and having few followers. I am not here to be followed but to at least be informed and do what little I can do to promote the efforts and I continued to check on LM expertise anyways. From there I migrated to many others, but followed spicy from the beginning too.
I listened frequently to zev and LB of which EG was part of the podcast much of the time. I for one, fell for his plea and sent in a small amount because I had partaken frequently of the trio podcast and felt like that was a valid payment for info received via podcast.
I totally appreciated your frank commentary with regards to him and I stopped the follow. I know who Chris is as well but I don't pay all that much attention to him. I think I unfollowed him due to his attitude but I honestly can't remember. I just view my regulars at this point for now.
I am honestly just sick of all the crap surrounding what should be a group effort by all to move the country forward. People stealing others' research and stuff is really tragic and self serving. I don't know much about the controversies, but that's also not why I am here, though I find it distracting. It makes me begin to distrust what should be good reporting. People are flawed- that can't be helped but it seems like so many are trying to accomplish some other goal besides what is best for America.
It is the infighting that will be capitalized on by opponents so I wish it would just diminish.
In the end, you bring all the receipts and that is all I care about. If we aren't informed, we can't make good decisions. So thanks and sorry you have all of this BS.
