Former Police Chief Alan Hosetter + 5 others indicted;
On February 3, 2021 CNN reported that the FBI had executed two search warrants on homes belonging to FBI raids homes of Russell Taylor and Alan Hostetter. Hostetter on various social media platforms and in encrypted chats/channel/group chats Former Chief of Police Alan Hosetter told his co-conspirators to prepare for “war tomorrow” against “vipers” in Congress.

American Phoenix Project & Digital Footprint
This is something my long time readers/followers know about me, I tend to take the “slow and steady” approach. Knowing (like I know the sun will rise and set) once an indictment is unsealed, it just a matter of time before social media companies suspend or delete the accounts. So while others might speed tweet, my approach has always been - data scrape their digital finger print before it’s gone. It’s meant to memorialize the data for future researchers too. how is he NOT IN CUSTODY? This III%er literally posted this to his Instagram account hours after his indictment was unsealed. He made his initial appearance in a California Federal Courtroom on June 10, 2021 And he thanks his attorney - so I can’t wrap my head around how on earth the USAO-DC didn’t coordinate with the USAO-SDCA because based on the indictment I don’t understand how these defendants were not detained, pending trial.
I’d like to know the reason the Government didn’t request detention…
Hosetter has a fairly large digital footprint LinkTree -(archived) and based on preliminary research it appears he favors both Instagram and Facebook. But he also used various encrypted messaging platforms. His January 6, 2021 Instagram Story - this was shot sometime after 6:45AM - DC local time

The Defendants used Telegram to not only communicate among themselves but also made plans to travel to DC for the November and December rallies and subsequently the deadly January 6th insurrection. This encrypted chat/channel ran from November 10 to December 20, 2020 and the fact the Government has actual dates should tell you they likely have the chats and know who the participants are/were. The following day, MELE explained in another Facebook, post, "going to rent a suburban. Team of four rotating eight hours each. Need room for the 'gear."'
Well that kind of answers my question about how did these six from Southern California make their way to Washington DC - guess flying wasn’t exactly an option- so Chevy Suburban is it…
WARNER initiated a goup text message thread through which WARNER, MELE, KINNISON, and MARTINEZ discussed logistics and expenses for a cross-country road trip from California to Washington, D.C. from January 2 through 9,2021…
That same day, MELE used the text thread to send WARNER, KINNISON, and MARTINEZ a screenshot of an Enterprise car rental reservation confirmation for a premium SUV.
December 29,2020, MELE posted to Facebook, "soldiers hitting the highway soon to be in DC on the 6th. Ready up!"

In a series of messages on January 1,2021, TAYLOR further explained the purpose of the group. In one message, he explained: "This thread is exclusive to be utilized to organize a group of fighters to have each other's backs and ensure that no one will trample on our rights. Also, if there is key intel that we need to be aware of tor possible threats." He added: "l am assuming that you have some type of weaponry that you are bringing with you and plates as well."
TAYLOR also asked members to identiff if they had previous law enforcement experience,military experience, or "special skills relevant to our endeavors," as well as the planned date and time of their arrival in D.C.

Also note the inventory of the gear they brought with them - they were coming to DC for a peaceful protest (which is in fact covered by constitutional rights) - no the gear and chats convey the III %ers intent and violence was on the top of mind for the III %ers:

MELE responded to the group, "Shorter the better. Mine will be able to be stashed under the seat. I'll bring it. l8"barrel."

So after Taylor attended the Jan 5th Rally on the steps of SCOTUS - where he was invited by Amy Kramer’s Group to be a speaker…later that night he sent this message via another encrypted platform:
At ll:28 pm on January 5,2021, TAYLOR posted a photo to a chat on another encrypted messaging service showing gear arranged on a bed, including a khaki backpack, black plate-carrier vest, two hatchets, a walkie talkie-type radio, a stun baton, helmet, scarf and a knife. In the caption he wrote, "Now getting ready for tomorrow."

approximately 2:30 pm, TAYLOR and HOSTETTER joined rioters on the lower West Terrace of the Capitol who were pushing through a line of law enforcement officers trying to hold them back. TAYLOR, still carrying a knife in the front chest pocket of his plate carrier vest, urged on rioters attempting to push through another line of officers on a lower level of the West Terrace, saying, "Move forward Americans!"
…TAYLOR then turned back to the officers afew feet away from him, who were trying to keep the rioters from moving toward the Upper West Terrace and Capitol Building, saying, "Last chance boys. Move back!" TAYLOR, followed closely by HOSTETTER, then pushed through the area that the law enforcement officers had been blocking, moved up the stairs onto a structure erected for the Inauguration, and continued moving on to the Upper West Terrace.
And just to be clear if the defendants state it was an insurrection well DUH of corse it was/is…

did comrptly alter, destroy, mutilate, and conceal a record, document, and other object, and attempted to do so, with the intent to impair its integrity and availability for use in an official proceeding, that is, WARNER erased and obscured the DC Brigade Telegram chat from his cell phone to hide it from the grand jury investigation into the attack on the Capitol on January 6, 2021.

I watched Hostetter’s I stagram post where he says the Feds indicted him for the “incident”. Made my blood boil. I grew up in So Cal and was always quite proud of my state. When I went to college in Orange County, it was a real eye opener how different the politics and the community demographics were. Never forgot. At the time, there was a John Birch Society growth movement on campus compiled with more born again groups merging religion and politics. From my perspective, you can see the roots of right wing extremism in these groups prior to what we see now. And seemed to be the first inkling that the movement would grow and evolve into other things. Had a roommate who joined and became cult-like in one of these groups and went so far as to change her name to a version that resembled Christ. She wasn’t alone. The type of religion she fell into however was quite anti-Semitic, racist and the preaching ruined the friendship. I might add we were both Jewish. Fast forward and she’s a Trump supporter. I quit Facebook a while back and one of the reasons was seeing people I once liked or had friendships with, fall under that cult like spell of alternative facts rooted in hate. It’s ruined family relationships too....and post pandemic life feels a lot emptier as we all pick up the pieces while avoiding people who participate in the “big lie” or who still can’t grasp the gravity of the pandemic or it’s effect on the globe. Hostetter is expecially disturbing to me because as a former law enforcement professional, he should have known better, been. Better, been smarter and not engaged. Worse, he’s not alone or unique as we see more and more military and law enforcement members, retired or otherwise, participating. It brings tremendous pain to my psyche to have the realization that in spite of a Biden win, we sit precariously on the precipice. It is incumbent on all of us to seek facts and credible information and not participate in any kind of disinformation or Q-like propaganda. Some days it feels like a daunting task. I have nothing but utter contempt for anyone who tries to interfere with our democracy or sets out to destroy the republic. Everything is upside down. His video was utterly disgusting and I can’t imagine why he’s not being held until his trial. Thanks Filey. You keep us well informed even when it must be exhausting. Have a great weekend.....I’m lucky to live in a small seaside town and some days, that’s my saving grace from all of this. It can really weigh down on your soul.

I read all about him and can see why he thinks he's winning and also why he's not incarcerated- he's kind of a Swahili-yoga-dude who thinks he can talk people into anything. Maybe he can?
