House Select Committee Jan6th attack on the Capitol HEARING DOCUMENTS & other Resources
FTR anyone who besmirches the Police Officers testimony -I will find you and then you and I will have words. I’m tired of the attacks on Law Enforcement & the Trump-GOP white washing
Kevin QANON-MAGA’s Freedom Caucus’ Desperation is dishonest and disgusting:
Kevin can’t control his caucus and the thing they won’t tell you is they are terrified that the Select Committee will abut to the 2022 midterms and based on some polling data -the House Republican QANON-MAGA Caucus should be really freaked out that their supporters are growing sick of Trump’s Big Lie. To be fair they did report a massive fundraising haul but the beltway has been abuzz with whispers of a mid-term shellacking —provided the Democrats don’t screw up and over reach…
Select Committee’s July 27th hearing -THE LAW ENFORCEMENT EXPERIENCE ON JANUARY 6TH
Date: Tuesday, July 27, 2021 - 9:30am
Witness Panel
Mr. Harry Dunn, Private First Class, U.S. Capitol Police
Mr. Aquilino Gonell, Sergeant, U.S. Capitol Police
Mr. Michael Fanone, Officer, Metropolitan Police Department
Mr. Daniel Hodges, Officer, Metropolitan Police Department
When the witness testimony is uploaded to the House Document Repository - I’ll update here. But that largely depends on how blitzed I am at work - so it might be after COB
On February 15, 2021 Kevin “QANON-MAGA” McCarthy sent this letter to the Speaker of the House. If you don’t know DC -let me give you some insight this is what Trump-QANON-MAGA House Republicans will latch on to because they don’t want to know the facts and they certainly do not want the American Electorate to pay attention to the Jan6th Select Committee. But also understand that Kevin QANON McCarthy and the Sedition Caucus will hold a Press Conference tomorrow — likely simultaneously as the Jan 6th Select Committee gavels in its first hearing.
…General Russel Honoré was appointed solely by you, without consultation of the minority. To the General’s credit he has reached out to several Republicans to brief on his work to date. We are hopeful his review will result in beneficial recommendations that are not influenced by political motivations. However, it is easy to understand why we and our Senate counterparts remain skeptical that any of his final recommendations will be independent and without influence from you.
hey so what’s is the Over-Under on Kevin-QANON having read the General’s Report?
I’m going with not a very good bet to make. I seriously doubt McCarthy or the other Trump-sycophants in Congress haven’t actually read
TASK FORCE 1-6 Capitol Security Review
Individuals and groups advocating extremist views actively use the internet to propagandize, recruit, radicalize, and organize political violence such as the Capitol Attack. Some also target Members with threats of violence. The USCP is not postured to track, assess, plan against, or respond to this plethora of threats due to significant capacity shortfalls, inadequate training, immature processes, and an operating culture that is not intelligence-driven.
I don’t know if you remember, back on Jan6th I had to repeatedly explain how the US Capitol Police Board of Directors works. Who are the Board Members and I repeatedly tweeted at the Architect of the Capitol “has that Trump Ratfucker resigned yet - if not he should forthwith” — because he was appointed by Trump and confirmed in Jan 2020. The Architect of the Capitol, statutorily speaking has a ten year term, see 2 U.S.C. §1801 (a)(1) -at a later date I have a lot to say about Blanton and none of it is good. I’m still waiting the Law Library of Congress’ access to non digital files and 2 FOIA request.
Your prerequisite multimedia intermezzo
Moreover during Jan6th I thought I explained why the two (near) simultaneous Pipe-Bombs placed at the RNC and DNC was likely meant as a big distraction —but Lonnie Coffman Affidavit in Support, Criminal Complaint Coffman - Indictment added even more stress on the limited resources deployed. Which thw USCP were already stretched way too thin.
We recommend revisions to 2 U.S. Code §§ 1970 and 1974 to give the USCP Chief the authority to request external law enforcement and National Guard support without CPB pre-approval in extraordinary emergency circumstances, when necessary to prevent the loss of life or wanton destruction of property and to restore governmental functions and public order.
One of the biggest and concerning issues, the excessively high turnover rate within the US Capitol Police force. General Honoré and his task force recognized the increased vacancies coupled with Officers quitting. The commonality tends to come back to morale —
What is really disturbing is by rough estimate there are currently dozens of current Republican Members of Congress who have lied, amplified Trump’s deadly “big lie”, told Americans (by way of the dias and/or running to Fox News, OANN and Newsmax) that a violent and deadly insurrection never happened. For a moment, close your eyes and try to visualize what Law Enforcement Officers faced. Hours upon Hours, upon Hours of hand to hand combat with reinforcements taking more than 4 hours to arrive.
Think about what it must feel like for the US Capitol Police force knows 1) dozens of Republican members of Congress continue to lie about Jan6th, 2) Kevin McCarty and Mitch McConnell just reported record campaign donations, 3) that three Officers lost their life (2 of whom died by suicide) and 4) even after the gaslighting the Republican Members of Congress repugnantly believe they “back the blue” and that they are “the Law and Order party” —what a complete lack of respect, gratitude and greedy profiteering because “midterms are just around the corner”

As Bipartisan Select Committee Hears From Hero Officers, House Republicans Plan Floor Antics & Jailhouse Presser
Full Press Release Found here - Madam Speaker is having none of the QANON-MAGA-Caucus’ bullpucky
Not content to simply disrespect and defund the Capitol Police, House Republicans have engaged in floor antics and announced a Jailhouse Presser tomorrow to stand with the insurrectionists, while the bipartisan Select Committee hears from heroic law enforcement officers who were beaten, crushed and racially targeted while defending the Capitol on January 6th.
Leader McCarthy’s antics show just how desperate House Republicans are to do something, anything to distract from the powerful and patriotic testimony of the law enforcement heroes of January 6th before the bipartisan Select Committee tomorrow. Instead of supporting the heroes in uniform who served and sacrificed that day, House Republicans are holding a press conference support of the violent insurrectionists who viciously attacked and harmed hundreds of members of law enforcement.

Select Committee Recent Staff Announcement
David Buckley, Staff Director
“…more than four decades of experience leading and conducting investigations, audits and policy evaluations. Prior to accepting this role, David served as Managing Director of KPMG’s Federal Advisory Services Practice, where he led the Risk Strategy and Compliance division, performing forensic and investigative services for clients within the United States federal government and specializing in insider threat detection. Previously, he served as Inspector General of the Central Intelligence Agency, a Senate-confirmed position, where he conducted oversight of the agency, offered recommendations to improve effectiveness and briefed members of the Congressional Intelligence Committees. He also served as Staff Director for the Minority of the United States House of Representatives Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence, counseling Ranking Member Jane Harman on the Committee’s oversight and legislative duties.”
Kristin Amerling, Deputy Staff Director/Chief Counsel
“…more than two decades of experience in Congress and the Executive Branch to her work counseling non-profit organizations on public policy issues. Currently, she is the Managing Director at Lanthorn Strategies. Prior to this, Ms. Amerling was Deputy General Counsel at the United States Department of Transportation, where she advised the Secretary on Congressional oversight and regulation. Previously, she served as Chief Counsel to the United States House of Representatives Committees on Energy and Commerce, and Oversight and Government Reform. She also served as Chief Investigative Counsel and Director of Oversight for the United States Senate Committee on Commerce, Science and Transportation. In these Congressional roles, she helped lead high-profile investigations into and oversight of the federal government’s mismanagement of Hurricane Katrina, the War in Iraq and the 2008 financial market meltdown.”
Hope Goins, Counsel to the Chairman
“...the Staff Director of the United States House of Representatives Committee on Homeland Security. She is the top advisor to Committee Chairman Bennie G. Thompson on all matters related to the oversight of the Department of Homeland Security and national security related matters throughout the Executive Branch. Ms. Goins is responsible for advancing and coordinating all Committee policy and legislation with the leadership of the House of Representatives. For over a decade, Ms. Goins has also been Chairman Thompson’s most senior advisor on matters related to counterterrorism, countering violent extremism, domestic terrorism, intelligence, cyber security, natural disasters, and civil rights and civil liberties. Ms. Goins has also supervised high level congressional investigations of the Executive Branch, including investigations into the government’s response to the COVID-19 pandemic, and the government’s response to the threat from violent extremists”
She’s one to watch, she has a long and very productive work history with Chairman Bernie Thompson. She’s a very much behind the scenes staffer but when you hear Select Committee members questions, there’s a high probability that she helped formulate the questions.
Candyce Phoenix, Senior Counsel/Senior Advisor
“…the Staff Director of the United States House of Representatives Subcommittee on Civil Rights and Civil Liberties under the Committee on Oversight and Reform. She is the top counsel for Chairman Jamie Raskin, responsible for conducting investigations and hearings into issues related to civil rights and liberties violations and criminal justice reform. In this role, she has managed an ongoing series of hearings and investigations into the domestic terror threat posed by violent white nationalists, as well as urged the Administration to develop a comprehensive plan to counter this threat. Ms. Phoenix also served as a counsel for the second impeachment of President Donald J. Trump, helping research, gather and organize the factual record behind the former President’s involvement in the January 6th insurrection. Previously, she also served as a Senior Trial Attorney in the Civil Rights Division of the United States Justice Department, where she advanced equal employment opportunities and protections for all Americans.”
And other one I’d watch —Ms Pheonix is very much a behind the scenes staffer but she’s wicked smart and she’s served with both honor and distinction, during the 2nd Impeachment Impeachment Manager Raskins heavily relied upon her expertise and sages counsel.
Tim Mulvey, Communications Director
“…a communications professional with more than a decade of experience at senior levels of government. He most recently served as Communications Director for the United States House of Representatives Committee on Foreign Affairs, where he served as a senior spokesperson and strategic advisor to Chairman Eliot Engel. In this role, Mr. Mulvey led the majority staff in developing and implementing communications strategy around high-level hearings and legislation related to foreign affairs and national security issues. Previously, he served as a speechwriter at the State Department, serving two Secretaries of State”
As you can surmise Chairman Bernie Thompson and the Select Community Members named five very serious individuals to be “on staff” for this Select Committee. That should tell you the solemnity of the investigation by this Select Committee. Again you should really tune out the online goat screamers who have no idea how DC runs or what’s actually important. It’s bad enough that broadly speaking have to contend with the QANON-MAGA screaming goats but now we have self appointed Blue-QANON-for-the-left trying to compete for relevance. Tune. Them. Out. Focus on the facts and specifically the questions the Select Committee Members ask but most importantly focus on the Witnesses answers.
Additional Background
On June 17th I published this article (you should reread it) The House of QANON-cards because it was time to just be brutal. I don’t have time for pleasantries and other congeniality because there’s too much toxic disinformation and misinterpreted
I also highly recommend you read this June 15th Article:
House Overnight June 15th Hearing 2PM re: Jan6th Insurrection -updated- as promised after COB and it’s B-A-D Full Committee Hybrid Hearing entitled “The Capitol Insurrection: Unexplained Delays and Unanswered Questions (Part II)”
—and this also proves Kevin QANON-MAGA McCarthy’s (not) awesome February 2021 letter to Speaker Pelosi is complete a garbage-dumpster-fire of malarkey. Why? Well here’s why (I literally gave you the link to the document in June) and walked you through each page. Didn’t you think it was odd that on Jan6th the Timeline from the DOD - not once was Donald J Trump noted to have called the Acting Defense Secretary or anyone at the DOD or DC National Guard…
JESUS CHRIST - THIS IS BAD for the DoD
That response took far too long. Documents obtained by the Committee show that beginning at 1:30 p.m., top officials at the Defense Department received at least 12 urgent requests for help from the Capitol Police Chief, the Mayor, and other officials. But after a series of delays, the National Guard did not arrive until 5:20 p.m., more than 4 hours after the Capitol perimeter was breached. This is a shocking failure, and today we intend to get to the bottom of why it happened
The newly obtained (and subsequently released) documents raise many questions about the Department of Defense leadership and Donald Trump - the revised timelines are horrifying
See March 2021 (then) DC National Guard Gen Walker’s testimony - again I walked you through the DOD-Contemporaneous Timeline
In March I also walked you through: ODNI, DOJ and DHS Release Unclassified Summary of Assessment on Domestic Violent Extremism...newly declassified REPORT
Also see February 13, 2021 Day 5 Impeachment Summary - Department of Defense Timeline
On January 8, 2021 the Department of Defense (DOD). My assumption is ,the DOD wanted to accurately memorialize the chain of events on their end in response to the Jan 6th insurrection. The DOD timeline includes a detailed planning & execution timeline for the National Guard’s involvement in the January 6, 2021 violent insurrection. The document can be found here. Pay attention to the time and gaps in time. Especially around the time that Pence was evacuated from the Senate Chamber
And lastly this Substack link will take you to the previously published articles surrounding Jan6th and Domestic Terrorism -
April of 2021 Seth Pendley plot to blow up Amazon Datacenter in Ashburn, VA -DOMESTIC TERRORISM
February 26, 2021 - Domestic Terrorism and if the deadly January 6, 2021 insurrection qualifies as domestic terrorism - where I explained that at present there is no law concerning “domestic terrorism” -there is only a “definition” again no law means no charges…or does it?
March 2, 2021 - FBI Director Wray Senate Hearing was the insurrection an Act of Domestic Terrorism? - I walked you through Dir Wray’s Congressional Testimony and added more details as to the challenges facing Federal Law Enforcement- specifically End-to-End Encryption communication platforms widely used by the Jan 6th Insurrectionist and Oath Keepers, Proud Boys, Militia Groups.

Racially/Ethnically Motivated (RMVE) Attack Planning and United States Federal Response, 2014-2019
This report evaluates 40 cases of individuals charged in United States federal courts between 2014 and 2019, who are alleged to have planned or conducted violent attacks in the United States in furtherance of RMVE causes or ideologies. By evaluating the demographic, ideological, and
organizational backgrounds of the perpetrators, as well as their attack-planning methods and processes, this report evaluates the successes and failures of federal law enforcement investigating and prosecuting RMVE attack planners. The study recommends a data-driven reevaluation and reallocation of FBI and DOJ resources and staff dedicated to investigating and prosecuting RMVE. It also proposes broader information-sharing between federal, state, and local partners on RMVE threats, particularly between the FBI and local religious communities. Finally, the report argues that a federal statute that criminalizes acts of domestic terrorism, similar to 18 U.S. Code § 2332b
also I would bookmark this report, which was published in early Spring 2021. I would then recommend you carve out time to read this report too. ”This is War” Examining Military Experience Among the Capitol Hill Siege Participants
Authored by Daniel Milton and Andrew Mines
April 2021
This report explores military experience among those arrested in the January 6 Capitol incident. While the Capitol Hill siege is but one event in a longer history of military populations’ involvement in extremism, it offers a useful snapshot through which we can examine the scale and diversity of the issue. We present findings for a number of metrics accordingly, and provide some considerations for military officials, the general public, and policymakers.
At the time of writing, 43 of 357 individuals (12%) charged in federal court for their role in the Capitol Hill siege had some form of military experience. Of these 43 individuals, the vast majority (93%) were veterans and not currently serving in an Active Duty,
reservist, or Guard status. Individuals with military experience had, on average, 9 years of service experience. The range of experience was substantial, from 3
years on the low-end to 25 years on the high-end. Over one-quarter were commissioned officers, and 44% deployed at least once. Around one-third joined before 2000, and around 50% left the service over a decade ago.
And with that you should be caught up to speed - but I’ll say this again tune out the screaming QANON-MAGE and Blue-QANON goats. They prey on your emotional investment of our Democracy. They also have an agenda and narrative and they are likely pimping out a PodCast, Premium Content etc —they are hoping to exploit your emotions and desire for information.
For me I want to learn how these individuals were radicalized. Obviously largely by an all you can eat buffet of Fox-Oann-NewsMax Trump sponsored disinformation —but it’s important to know exactly how tens of thousands, likely hundreds of thousands and probably most accurate, millions upon millions of Americans were radicalized]
one could argue that Donald J Trump is a kin to Osama bin Laden
whereas the die hard QANON-MAGA, Trump’s most loyal acolytes -could be construed as American-Jihadist
Trump used Twitter to has decree many fatwa on the Facts, Truth, Our Government as a whole, and Trump continues to repeatedly attack our Democracy, but with a lot of help from Congressional Republicans
I’d go a step further and argue that Trump’s engaging in (actual) wire fraud aka fundraising. Which means it is a akin to financing non-state bad actors aka Domestic Terrorist Group.
My suggestion is; stick to the facts. Let the facts guide you to the true north. Notwithstanding you should also prepare yourselves, mentally and emotionally. My educated guess is the oral testimony of these four incredibly heroic police officers will likely be distressing, painful and at times overwhelming. It’s okay to take a few minutes away and then reengage with the hearing…
Today’s testimony will likely be; emotionally charged but you need to sit still and listen to them. You need to hear directly from these police officers what they & their fellow Law Enforcement Officers endured. The how, what, why, and who, these officers are still grappling with the trauma their bodies and mind experienced. Especially PTSD.
As I’ve previously mentioned I have few real life friendships (shocker I know) and that includes the handful of US Capitol Police Officers. As of late I’m genuinely concerned about one of my friends. Jan6th has taken a toll on their outward appearance. But it’s the “invisible injuries” that are incredibly difficult to heal —the trauma both physically and mentally In the 7+ months they aged by at least by a decade. They look beleaguered and it’s hard to watch the manifestation of PTSD on an individual you’ve been friends with for nearly 2 decades.
I think we should give these police officers the respect that they are owed -by literally put their bodies in between Trump’s QANON-MAGA mob and lawmakers.
…just a thought not a sermon. I won’t be live blogging or Tweeting (because Duh I’m not on Twitter) but I’ll like write a follow up article post hearing.
-dah mic is extra Spicy and has lots of Files
Very sad for your friend. It must be difficult to watch them go through this stress. Today is another one for the history books. The road is arduous but the patriots must stick to their fervent dedication to keeping our democracy alive. It is incumbent on all of us but a special hat tip to those who return to the Capitol in the aftermath of the Trump era & the insurrection. We will not know for years the long lasting impact it has had on the dedicated public servants. May justice prevail.
THANK YOU! Yes, I will listen to their testimony. I know it will not be easy for them.
